I’ve been using Folsom Lake Toyota service department for over 20 years and very happy with the service and advisors especially Danny Cross. I highly recommended Folsom Lake.
I went to Folsom Lake Toyota because I received their $17.76 oil change special in the mail. Before going, I called to schedule the appointment and specifically asked how long it would take. I was told about 2 hours, which was fine. After arriving, I waited and could clearly see my vehicle parked outside after about an hour. It then sat there for roughly another 30 minutes with no communication. I asked an employee if my car was finished, and he said sometimes the cars sitting outside aren’t done yet and that someone would contact me. My service advisor had given me his business card and phone number, so after waiting the full 2 hours with no update, I texted him. I never received a response. I waited another 30 minutes, then walked over to his desk. He told me he was helping another customer and would be right with me. Another 30 minutes passed, and I was still being ignored. After approximately 3½ hours for a basic oil change, I finally had to tell them I needed my vehicle because I had to pick up my child. Suddenly they were able to finish everything. The explanation I received was that they were “writing a story.” I’m sorry, but there isn’t a story to write for a routine oil change. I was told 2 hours and ended up waiting an extra hour and a half with almost no communication. Good customer service is simply keeping customers informed. What made the experience worse was hearing a comment about customers coming in for the $17.76 oil change promotion, saying they can “spot them a mile away.” If your staff resents customers for using a promotion your dealership advertises, then don’t offer it. It felt like the goal was to upsell services rather than provide the advertised oil change in a reasonable amount of time. Unfortunately, this wasn’t my first bad experience here. I previously had body work done through the dealership, and that experience also did not go well. Overall, I left feeling ignored and disrespected. Based on my experiences, I cannot recommend Folsom Lake Toyota. This level of customer service is not what I expect from a Toyota dealership.

My scheduled service was fine but I paid for a detail job and they did an absolutely terrible job. First I specifically asked to have my inside windshield cleaned. It now especially the passenger side, looks worse, driver sideview mirror has so many water spots can hardly see out if it and now I have spots on both sides and back on the trim. They look like water spots but definitely are not. Not only that they took my special mats out, that was fine, but they literally threw them in the back and never replaced them when they were done. I for sure wasted my money.
They wouldn’t honor a coupon we received in an email, even though it was still ok to use at the time of service. Otherwise my reply would be different. Very unprofessional and definitely not customer service friendly
The process was quick and easy. The staff, including sales staff, management and finance were great to work with.
